The main function of the community center, which we have called “The Inhaler”, is giving psychological support to cancer patients, their families and their environment by providing the sense of community and educating about cancer.

The competition site – the Bror Hansson Park is located in the oldest district of Kraków and only 700 meters from Krakow’s Main Square. The close proximity of Maria Skłodowska-Curie Memorial Institute of Oncology is extremely significant for creating community center for people with cancer.

In the middle of the park lawn we are planning to put a 230 square metre – large object, surrounded by trees, seats for visitors and equipped with additional function – the walls which produce curative aerosol.

We concentrated not only on creating a community center but we also focused on preventive activities. The Bror Hansson Park could become a widely accessible healing inhalation place, like a graduation towers, which were a strong inspiration for this project.

Graduation towers use the whole range of micronutrients to saturate air and eradicate smog. They also prevent upper respiratory tract from recurrent or chronic diseases like rhinitis, asthma, allergic diseases, conditions after acute respiratory infections, sinusitis, bronchitis, lung disease.

Smog is the most alarming danger in the polluted city. Inhaling it can affect people's health. It's because of the tar, which is deposited in the upper tracts of the lungs. This situation can lead to many diseases including lung cancer.
